GTA 6 Release Date Speculation: All Eyes On 2025.
Rockstar has confirmed that the release date for GTA 6 is set for 2025. This news comes as part of the reveal trailer, which states that Grand Theft Auto 6 is set to release TBC 2025 – no further clarification has been posted on when it will release.Even before the trailer was revealed, Internet sleuths were making some educated guesses.
Multiple sources have confirmed the rumor that GTA 6 will release in 2025, which was part of a larger piece of information suggesting that Grand Theft Auto 6 will be set in a modern-day Vice City.
Interestingly, Rockstar owner Take-Two has continued to say that GTA 6 will arrive by March 2025, while not saying anything about it. What’s happening with GTA 6 PC release?
There is currently no mention of a PC launch, which could suggest that it will follow a similar path to some previous GTA games that released on consoles first before coming to PC at a later date.
We also wouldn’t hold your breath for a quick PC release follow-up, as according to a former developer, GTA 6 on PC will take a while, with PS5 being prioritized as Rockstar focuses on “what sells.” This has been confirmed by another former developer, who said that the GTA 6 PC launch probably won’t happen for a “long time.”
GTA 6 Characters: Introducing Lucia
During the official trailer, we were introduced to the heroes of GTA 6, focusing on the first GTA 6 female lead, Lucia. Although we still have a lot to learn about him as a character, the trailer does give us a few hints, including him wearing prison garb, which tells us that he’s clearly had some trouble with the law. Joe looks set to play the lead role in the next entry – while he’s been informally referred to as both Jason and James in the past, we haven’t received confirmation of his name. The pair seem to share a bond, or a kind of Bonnie and Clyde-like relationship, and talk of trust as they get caught up in a crime together.

GTA 6 announcement: When was GTA VI confirmed?
The first GTA VI announcement came in February 2022, when Rockstar Games broke the news that GTA VI was “well underway” as part of the broader GTA 5 and GTA Online community updates. Along with word that Grand Theft Auto 6 is in “active development”, Rockstar said: “On behalf of our entire team, we thank you all for your support and can’t wait to step into the future with you. Can do!”
Will GTA 6 be delayed in 2025 ?
Shortly after the new GTA VI leak, there was some concern over how the intrusion would affect the ongoing development of the new Grand Theft Auto game. Rockstar confirmed in an official statement that the hack will not impact GTA VI production, or the ongoing security of GTA 5 and GTA Online.
“At this time, we do not anticipate any disruption to our live game services nor do we expect any long-term impact on the development of our ongoing projects […] Our work on the next Grand Theft Auto game is proceeding as planned. “And we remain as committed as ever to providing you, our players, with an experience that truly exceeds your expectations.”
GTA 6 MAP:
While the final GTA VI map has yet to be shown, there are some indicators from leaked videos and screens that indicate a play space that extends beyond the limits of Vice City. Just like Rockstar expanded Los Santos between Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas and GTA 5, some leaked screenshots show off all-new areas of Vice City
.As you may know, Vice City itself is based on Miami, and now there’s speculation that GTA 6 will head further south to the Everglades (a wetland) and the Florida Keys (a chain of tropical islands). Now, “Gator Keys” was referenced as part of a radio broadcast in the original GTA: Vice City, but the location was never shown in the game.If the screenshots suggest what we think, expect the GTA VI map to feature a mix of environment types.

Since Rockstar has not yet released an uncolored GTA VI gameplay trailer, it’s difficult for us to say for sure how this new game will play and how it will be a new take on Grand Theft Auto 5.
